Blog #4: Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to the two best dads I know...Dad(Opa) and Bobby! I was extra blessed to get to spend the day with these two very special men. I know we don't tell you nearly enough, but thanks for all you do.....I hope you had a great day! Since Charla was in town, she helped make the day extra special by debuting a song to Dad that she and Clay wrote this week. (I tried to download the video, but couldn't get it to work.....I will try again in a little while) I have included the lyrics, because I wasn't sure how the sound was going to be! Oh yeah....for those of you who know my mom and dad...you may need a tissue! Love you Dad and Bobby....Happy Father's Day!
Sing To Me
©2008 Corn/Corn
The sun hangs low in the west Texas sky
In the distance I hear cattle low
This dusty old street is hot to my feet
As I watch the wind as it blows
And it just keeps blowing as it has for years
But today it welcomes me home
Carrying music and laughter and tears
Telling me I'm not alone
Through the front door I can see dad's precious face
Smiling as I let myself in
The years have been kinder to this sacred place
Than they have to his weathered old skin
And the low hanging sun pours through the room
As I sit down and I start to play
With dad sitting there in his ancient green chair
From somewhere I hear momma say
Sing, Sing to me
Sing to me
Sing me a song about what used to be
Sing me a song about Jesus and love
A song about hope and heaven above
It doesn't have to be
More than a melody
I just want you to Sing to me
I played and I played for hours on end
Just like when I was a kid
I was gonna go far with this old guitar
And God knows that I never did
Momma's been gone for two years on
And dad looks like he's on his way
As the hours roll on to the sweet by and by
I hear somebody once again say
CHORUS

Bla-bla-bla-blog #3
So there is alot to blog about this weekend to say the least!

Aunt Charla was in town opening for Kevin Fowler. She did awesome, and it is clear that the disappointing "Nashville Star" Episode is going to be but a springboard to something sooo much bigger. I know we are more than a little partial, however, she is really an amazing person and artist! Here are a few pictures and a breif video! If you want to check out more, find her on myspace, or go to http://www.charlamusic.com/.

Splish Splash!
So the one good thing about it being sweltering hot, is that we go swimming alot! When he is around, Opa is always the first to agree to take the big dip! Well, apparently this all started at a hotel pool somewhere with Kinsley and Brylie, and as you can see it has turned into hours of fun. Do you think playing frogger over Opa's head will ever be an Olympic Sport?
And then when you get really advanced, you can add it a stylin little head slap...which I know Opa really appreciated!

Spidey Slidey
Okay....is it just me or was the person who created the slip ~n~ slide clearly not a real kid friendly person? I mean come on....where else can you get a bloody nose, strained neck, busted teeth, cracked tail bone, and minor head injuries all in one enjoyable play session? For Landry's birthday he recieved this nifty Spider Man Slide. So since it has been over 100 degrees for a while now, we have been having some fun in the sun. I thought I would capture some great pictures, because it really is a "cute" toy, before any really trauma occured!:>) We all three decided that the most practical purpose for such a contraption is to use it as a water fountain.
Kindergarten is a thang of the past:>(
Miss Brylie had her BIG kindergarten graduation/awards ceremony today. Here are a few pictures of the event! She got the "Most Compasionate Child" award as well as "The Best All Around Student"! She has had a wonderful year with two of the greatest kindergarten teachers ever, Mrs. Kyle and MeMe the classroom grandmother.

Serious Business!
As you can see Brylie took her job very seriously! I have to say that she appeared "Brave and Bold" in front of a packed house. She has her first loose tooth, and she heald it together for this....all signs are pointing towards first grade!:>)
Little Miss Kindergarten
Brylie had her kindergarten PTA program this week. She was a butterfly, and a great one at that! Here is a video of her super star debut!

Landry's birthday is on May the 4th. He is such a ray of sunshine to us....no doubt. He is such a happy, whitty and loving boy, we couldn't have wanted anything more! Is he allllllll boy? Absolutely! But he is absolutely perfect! We are truly blessed! So for his birthday we decided to throw a little party, only the little party turned into a bash, with many (30+) dear dear friends and family member. Here are a few of the pictures!

Bodhi Walls: Our Best Buddy!
As many of you know, we lost our beloved Bodhi a little over a month ago. He was the most awesome dog that anyone could ever ask for. He was fun, and was our protector, and we have all definately felt a void in our home since he has been gone. Landry is still convinced that the mail man might have had something to do with his disappearance, seeing that this was his only known enemy! Bobby and I have sorted through a bunch of pictures this weekend, so I though I would share some of them. Bodman would have turned 10 years old this summer! I know that dogs don't get to stay in our lives for very long, but they are special blessings from God that bring us great joy and companionship beyond measure and teach us so much about unconditional love!
Squirrel watching with Brylie!
It's a dog's life, huh?
So when did you say this Santa guy was showing up?.....
